A Special Exhibit Dedicated to Peace, Love & Harmony

Wednesday, November 16th at 5PM

The exhibit runs through December 13th

East & West is an art exhibit dedicated to peace, love and harmony

It showcase the artwork of Demouzy Contemporary represented visual artists.

Their paintings and sculptures is a reflection of the relationship between them and the world that influence them, we are often influenced by social and economic circumstances and political atmospheres. However artists always find a way to convey a visual massage of beauty in the mists of a conflicting and an ever changing world.

The featured artworks addresses the subjects of diversity and the importance of living in a peaceful and harmonious world. This exhibition at its heart is a powerful means to voice out what we hold so dear to our hearts and the importance of living in a loving, tolerant world.

Several favorite artists inspired this exhibition, to name a few; Pablo Picasso once said “The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider web.” and

Marc Chagall thought on art “Art must be an expression of love or it is nothing.” As for the Ankh special exhibition it was inspired by the words of contemporary sculptor, Henry Moore who once said “To be an artist is to believe in life.” In search of artworks that fits into this the East & West art exhibition concept, I decided to include 26 Ankh sculptures created by premier international artists, who used a three dimensional fiberglass canvas in the form of Ankh form to convey a contemporary message of hope for a harmonious, peaceful, loving and tolerant world.

The Ankh is a globally recognized ancient Egyptian holographic symbol that means “Life”  known also as (Key Of Life) it symbolizes peace and harmony.

The form of the Ankh Sculpture was designed and created by Dr. Reda Abdel Rrahman, a premier Egyptian born artists now based in New York. He was directly involved in selecting the artists featured in this exhibition These sculptures were formerly part of an international touring art exhibition organized by Caravan Art where Dr. Reda Abdel Rahman was a a co – curator/ artist, working on distributing the Ankh form and bringing the artists together on this meaningful collaboration.

Dr. Reda Abdel Rahman is well known for curating international public art projects and exhibitions that focus on bringing together artists from around the world on collaborations and special projects. Some of his projects were on tour in Paris, London, Cairo and now in New York.

Demouzy Contemporary is pleased to have Dr. Reda Abdel Rahman on board as an art consultant , advisor, educator and curator of special art projects.

The Ankh sculpture project will continue to grow as more artists are invited to participate.

All the artworks featured in East & West art exhibit is available for purchase. The sale of the artworks supports the artists directly and a percentage support Demouzy Contemporary public art projects, art education, special art initiatives and workshops.
