النفطُ الخام

عندما أُكتٌشِفَ النفط في العراق في عام 1927, أصبح البلد حينها معروفاً بثروته النفطية وباتت هذه الصفة تفوق شهرته كمهد للحضارات منذ ألاف السنين. هذه الغلبة لعنصر الاقتصاد على حساب الثقافة قد عتًم بشكل أو بأخر على المنجز الفني والعلمي في بلاد الرافدين, في هذا العمل الفني بترول خام, وهو تجسيد مجازي لتفوق النفط على المعرفة.

When oil was discovered in Iraq in the Year 1927, the country then became known for its oil wealth, a quality that afterwards over dominated its fame as a cradle of civilizations for thousands of years. This dominance of economy over culture has in a certain way or another cast dim shadows on the artistic and scientific achievements in Mesopotamia.

In this Artwork, there is crude oil, which is a figurative embodiment of the dominance of oil over knowledge.

 Quand on a découvert le pétrole en Iraq en 1927, le pays est devenu connu pour sa richesse. Cette qualité à ensuite supplanté sa célébrité d’avoir été un berceau de civilisation pendant des milliers d’années. Cette dominance de l’économie vis-à-vis la culture a d’une façon ou d’une autre jeté une ombre obscur sur les acquisitions artistiques et scientifiques en Mésopotamie.

Dans cet œuvre j’ai utilisé du pétrole cru, symbolisant la dominance du pétrole sur le savoir.
